Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Design Engineer to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, layout, and configuration of switchgear systems, development of control schemes, preparation of technical drawings, and project support throughout the engineering lifecycle, primarily serving oil and gas sector clients.

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Design Engineer to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, layout, and configuration of switchgear systems, development of control schemes, preparation of technical drawings, and project support throughout the engineering lifecycle, primarily serving oil and gas sector clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop general arrangement (GA) layouts and configure switchgear systems.
- Design control schemes utilizing PLCs and microprocessor-based protection relays to enable automated transfer operations.
- Attend technical meetings with consultants and clients to discuss project requirements and solutions.
- Create electrical one-line diagrams, elevation drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams using AutoCAD and EPLAN software.
- Prepare and generate bills of material tailored to specific project applications.
- Interpret customer requirements by reviewing documents such as one-line diagrams, specifications, and layout drawings.
- Ensure all engineering assignments are completed within design parameters, budget constraints, and project schedules.
- Communicate project concerns, risks, and improvement suggestions to the project manager and engineering manager.
- Support proposal activities as needed, including technical input and documentation.
- Recommend improvements to system designs and engineering scopes of work.
- Provide technical support to the shop floor for engineered orders during manufacturing and assembly.
- Knowledge of Eaton products (e.g., ACBs, MCCBs, xEnergy systems) is a strong advantage.
- Familiarity with Qatar-specific specifications, including Kahramaa, QE, and LNG standards, is preferred.
- Strong understanding of international standards, particularly IEC
Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience working with switchgear assembly for oil and gas sector clients
- Total of 5-6 years of experience in the switchgear assembly industry
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
- Proficient in AutoCAD and EPLAN for electrical design.
- Strong knowledge of switchgear components and systems.
- Familiarity with Eaton products (ACB, MCCB, xEnergy systems) is a strong advantage.
- Understanding of Qatar-specific standards (Kahramaa, QE, LNG) preferred.
- Solid understanding of international standards, especially IEC standards.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and project coordination skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
